Poor Oral Hygiene : A Gun Infection Risk Factor

Regular brushing and flossing are the essentials of oral health. Gum infection starts when poor oral hygiene is practiced. Bacteria are formed from food particles left inside the mouth especially in between the teeth and gumlines. Plaque are being formed from bacteria that cause gums to irritate and inflamed, resulting to swollen gums and gum infection. When more food particles are stuck in between the teeth and the gums, the risk for gum infection increases.

To avoid gum infection, proper oral hygiene must be observe, however regular brushing and flossing are not enough to be prevented from bacteria. When plaque is allowed to build up and hardened into tartar, dental professional cleanings are recommended to remove it. Thus regular dental visit for check ups and dental cleanings should be included in your daily oral care regimen; poor oral hygiene must have no room in your health. It will only increase the risk in getting a gum infection ad gum disease.
